Next up is a beautiful vacation spot in Cambria, CA. This little town emanates character and charm. It is full of unique shops, restaurants, and gardens. The most notable attraction in Cambria is the Hearst Castle. This California State Park is home to the famous outdoor swimming pool, serene gardens, wine cellar, and works of art from around the world.
You can participate in a guided tour that will take you through the historic land while providing information on the cultural establishments. Driving north from Morro Bay up to Ragged Point is the best way to experience Cambria and soak in all the views it has to offer!
As you make your way north of Cambria, up Highway 1, you’ll enter Ragged Point where you can see into Big Sur, a must-see destination in California. Experience breathtaking views from high above the coast to the ocean by stopping for lunch at Nepenthe located on Highway 1. You can also drive to the Big Sur and stay for the weekend if you want to fully experience the land by hiking through the Ventana Wilderness or visiting the Point Sur lighthouse.
If you’re looking for a one-stop shop location paired with prime road trip scenery visit Yosemite National Park based about three hours east of San Jose in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite is one of the most cherished parks in the country due to its natural wonders and scenic wilderness. You can plan a day or an entire weekend here to soak up everything it has to offer!
